  1. This idea was REALLY funny the first time i saw it–in Dilbert!..and sorta funny the second time i saw it–in Get Fuzzy. This time–not so funny.

  2. Third place isn’t so bad!

  3. I don’t remember um, “a man chained to a rock with an eagle standing on him while a woman asks for directions” in dilbert or get fuzzy…?

    Did I miss something?

  4. Not an EXACT copy of those ideas but a GENERAL SIMILARITY with the setup/punchline. I took a summer cartooning class so i know whereof i speak.

  5. A billion comics come out every day.

There’s a big chance that they will have similar setups and punchlines.

    It’s an inevitability.

    And no big deal.

Now you like to criticize. But where’s your work? If you have such high opinions you must be a great comic artist. And until I see some of your work, your opinion means squat.

It’s easy to criticize. Any jackass can do it. Let’s see you put your money where your mouth is.

  6. “They say it’s easier to tear something down than it is to build it up, but then that’s just some stupid bullshit that can go straight to hell.”

  7. So… Prometheus lives on the Main Street?

  8. Prometheus lives on a vast barren plain but if you walk to the end of Main street and continue in a (perfectly) straight line for a couple hundred miles you can’t miss him!

  9. A “general similarity with the setup/punchline”: mmmm … sounds like … most TV, movies, music, pasta, and boxers.

Independent thought sometimes meet other independent thought: it’s not an issue for non-Dilbert or Get Fuzzy readers. I’m sure those artists were independently coming up with ideas that had already been thunk too.

    Nothing new under the sun.

note: I think someone wrote something like this comment earlier somewhere.
