Welcome to the miserable world of PROMETHEUS…

Who is Prometheus?…

Prometheus is a character from Greek mythology who—in defiance of Zeus—stole fire from Olympus and gave it to mankind. As punishment Zeus had Prometheus chained to a rock where an eagle tore out his liver. Each night his liver grew back, and each day the eagle returned to have his meal…

What is this comic?

This comic chronicles the life of Prometheus in the present day.

blog-good-use-of-gift.jpg

It features his wife and son, who feel that Prometheus has been neglecting his duties as a husband and father…

…a small, yet devoted group of activists

…an uncaring S.O.B. who is less than sympathetic to our hero’s suffering…

…a “conjugal visit in progress” screen to maintain our hero’s privacy during his intimate marital moments…

…and an eagle.

So, visit the main page for the latest comic or go to “the whole Prometheus enchilada” to see every strip I’ve posted presented in one long page of misery! Comments and e-mails welcome…I hope you enjoy my efforts!

  2. I LOVE this cartoon series.
    Very clever!!!
Even if you aren’t familiar with Greek
    mythology you understand the humor.
It everyday humor that happens to all of
us at one time or another.
(aside from having an eagle tear out
    your liver day after day!)
    Good work,Mr Weinstein!

  7. Hey…um…..
I just wanted to say something. You have a very interesting side bar. The “casts” image totally goes with the blog.

But um..I can’t view the comics properly in my Firefox. Here is a screenshot of what I see:

  9. I looked at your screenshot, Netty… boy that looks irritating! Maybe your monitor is too small? My screen size is set to 1024 x 768 and it looks okay on my screen (in Firefox). If you click on the comic you want to see it should load by itself so you can read it unobstructed. If I upload them any smaller than I do now I’m afraid the words and facial expressions will be hard to understand.
Anyway, I appreciate your writing and I’m glad you like Prometheus!

  21. Came upon this site by accident. Looks interesting, I’ll have a gander at the comic.

Since you seem up on the subject, maybe you can answer the question that first brought me here.

    What was the eagle’s name?

  23. Hello, Mark,
    You’re brilliant!
    🙂
I’m laughing a lot with your Pormetheus’ wordl.
Can I post some of them, once in a while, in my blog? Of course I would indicate the and your name.
I teach classics at a university, here in this faraway Europe, but the jokes are very appropriate to our situation (an effect of globalization, probably).
I’m going to check if you are translated in to portuguese!
    Thank you!

  35. I’ve arrived here after googling “Prometheus”. I was looking for reviews of Ridley Scott’s movie. Your comics are genius! Restored my hope in mankind’s ability of taking itself not so seriously (something Ridley Scott should learn a thing or two about). Movie absolutely abysmal, comic sheer brilliance.
    Thanks
